Welcome to The Schar School Policy Review

Welcome to The Schar School Policy Review

For over a decade, the Schar School of Policy and Government has been without a dedicated student-led policy journal. The last publication of its kind, founded in 2007, served as a vibrant space for research and dialogue before its dissolution in 2014. Since then, no platform has existed to showcase the rich and diverse scholarship produced by the Schar School’s community of impressive experts and students.

The Schar School Policy Review was created to revive that legacy. Our mission is to provide the community of the Schar School with a platform to publish original, high-quality research that reflects the depth of their academic inquiry and the breadth of their policy interests. We aim to elevate student voices, highlight innovative perspectives, and contribute meaningfully to the broader discourse shaping public policy. We believe that the well-informed, rigorously developed scholarship produced within the Schar School deserves to be shared with the broader public—not kept hidden, but displayed as a testament to the intellectual vitality of our community.

Through this journal, we seek not only to amplify the work of emerging policy scholars but also to foster collaboration between students, faculty, and practitioners. Our vision is to cultivate a dynamic space where ideas thrive, analysis informs, and research inspires real-world change—bringing the excellence of the Schar School community into mainstream policy conversations.
